Failure to supervise. However, the outcomes fatigue so it takes on going vigilence and monitoring. Changing the warrior mentality of medical workers would also help but that means changing the culture of medical education and training.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; line-height: 24px; color: #4d4f51;\">2.<strong style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit;\">&nbsp;Innovative<\/strong>&nbsp;ways to detect and treat burnout. Some have hired in-house corporate chaplains or counselors , use behavioral health apps or telepsychiatry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; line-height: 24px; color: #4d4f51;\">3.&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit;\">Surveillance<\/strong>. Self reporting does not work. Snitching does not work either. We need better ways to keep track of who is in trouble or likely to be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; line-height: 24px; color: #4d4f51;\">4.&nbsp;<strong style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-style: inherit; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit;\">Stewardship<\/strong>. Stop piling on administrivia, rules, regulations, red tape and bad bosses who simply get between the patient and their doctors and add little or no value to patients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-size: 16px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; vertical-align: baseline; line-height: 24px; color: #4d4f51;\">We all know by now that&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.judytsafrirmd.com\/a-crisis-is-a-terrible-thing-to-waste\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit; font-family: inherit; vertical-align: baseline; text-decoration: none; color: #96999c; font-variant: inherit; line-height: inherit;\">a crisis is a terrible thing to waste.<\/a>&nbsp;The first step in change leadership is to create a sense of urgency such that followers are willing to unfreeze existing patterns of behavior and systems and change them for the better.
